In a press conference at the secretariat conference hall on Friday afternoon, Education Minister Ratanlal Nath said, “18 offers of Kokbarak assistant professors will be made today by the Higher Education Department for teaching Kokborok language in General Degree colleges of the state”.
He also said that “Lakshya Scheme” was launched by the state government to facilitate the coaching of job examinations for the boys and girls of the state.
He added that according to this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh was given to any boy or girl who passed the prelims examination of the job examination.
The Education Minister further said that the amount would be increased to 2 lakh rupees, which will encourage boys and girls of the state to participate in these examinations in greater numbers.
He added that 16 postgraduate teachers working in various colleges of the state have been certified as assistant professors.
Nath also said that approval from the State Education Department has been sent to the Finance Department for creating 5 more posts of Assistant Professors.
