On June 21, 2019 Fifth International Yoga Day was observed across the world as well as in State of Tripura. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise global awareness about the benefits of the ancient physical, mental and spiritual Indian practice. The initiative taken by the Govt of India is to dedicate the day to inner and outer well-being of human body in practicing Yoga.
In order to celebrate the occasion, BSF Tripura Frontier was designated as Nodal Agency to liaise with all CAPFs deployed in the State of Tripura to participate in mass Yoga demonstration at the State level function. More than 1000 personnel comprising of Officers, SOs and Other ranks from various CAPFs including BSF, CRPF, Assam Rifle and CISF along with more than 2000 children from various schools participated under the aegis of BSF Tripura Frontier and “Ayush Foundation” under Mministry of State Sports & Youth Affairs at Umakanta Akademy Stadium, Agartala.
Shri Biplab Kumar Deb, Honorable Chief Minister of Tripura, was the distinguished Chief guest to grace the occasion who led the mass Yoga demonstration. The ceremony also witnessed the presence of Shri Manoj Kanti Deb, State Sports & Youth affair Minister, Shri Rajeev Singh, IPS, DGP Tripura Police and Shri Solomon Yash Kumar Minz, IPS, IG BSF Tripura Frontier. In addition, several dignitaries including MLAs, State Govt. Officials and CAPF troops marked their presence on the occasion.
The Yoga practice was also carried out on all 244 Border Out Posts of the BSF deployed along Indo-Bangladesh Border in the State of Tripura and the static Headquarters at Frontier HQ Salbagan, Sector HQ Gokulnagar, Udaipur and Teliamura with full zeal and enthusiasm.
