The Tripura United Indigenous Peoples Council has slammed the state government for withdrawing the security of the surrendered militants without having any discussion with them.
TUIPC leader Anant Debbarma said that the state government had withdrawn their security without any discussion with them.
TUIPC is an umbrella organization of the surrendered militants groups of Tripura.
The BJP-led government had recently withdrawn security of all the surrendered militants including Dhananjay Debbarma and Ananta Debbarma,Bijay Hrangkhel, Lalit Debbarma.
Debbarma said they had given several letters to the chief minister on that issue, but he did not respond to the letters.
State government officials justified the decision claiming that it was taken after reviewing all aspects. “The continuation of security of individuals who do not have safety risk is wastage of public money,” a senior official said.
