Prime Minister Narendra Modi today appreciated the works initiated by the Biplab Kumar Deb-led government in past 18 months.
The Prime Minister appreciated the role of state government when Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb went to meet him to seek blessings on his birthday.
In his meeting with the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister briefed him about the progress of various ongoing projects and implementation status of central schemes in Tripura. Deb also sought Rs. 1000 crore from Centre for the ongoing projects and the Prime Minister assured positively in this regard.
As part of his Delhi visit, Deb also had meetings with five union ministers- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, DoNER minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (IC) Power, New and Renewable Energy- R.K. Singh and Textiles Minister Smriti Irani.
While interacting with the Defence Minister, Deb took blessings on his birthday and discussed various matters relating to state’s interests.
Similarly, the Chief Minister met Minister of State for DoNER Ministry- Dr. Jitendra Singh. Their discussions include various important matters including demand of Rs. 1300 crore for various road constructions in ADC areas and other projects. The Union Minister has assured the Chief Minister of extending supports on the demand.
During the meeting with Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Deb proposed to upgrade the primary health centres of Tripura through National Health Mission (NHM) and also sought fund to improve the district hospitals.
The Chief Minister said the Union Health Minister accepted the proposal of setting up of a new district hospital in Dhalai district and the work would commence soon.
He had also met with the Union Minister for Textiles, Women and Child Development- Smriti Irani and talked on the ways to implement various Woman and Child Development and Textiles schemes. She also assured to extended supports on the proposal.
Apart from this, Deb held productive interaction with the Minister of State (IC) Power, New and Renewable Energy- R.K. Singh. They had in-depth deliberation on the present scenario of Power in Tripura and its development and distribution.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister along with his wife Niti Deb and two MPs- Pratima Bhowmik and Rebati Tripura joined the Tripura Day celebration in the India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
