BSF SEIZES YABA TABLETS WORTH RS. 4.75 LAKHS FROM INTERNATIONAL BORDER
BSF, in continuous endeavors towards eradicating the menace of Narcotic smuggling from the State of Tripura, has been conducting special operations to seize narcotic drugs. In the similar veins of action, on 26 Nov 2019, BSF troops deployed at Border Out Post Kamlasagar, PS Sonamura, Dist Sepahijala, acting on specific intelligence input, observed suspicious movement of some smugglers approaching Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence.
On being challenged by the BSF party, the smugglers fled away from the spot, taking the advantage of thick vegetation and undulating ground. During thorough search of the area, operational party recovered one bag hidden inside thick vegetation, containing 950 Yaba tablets worth 4,75,000/-.
Seized Yaba tablets were handed over to PS Madhupur.
Besides above, on the same night, BSF troops also succeeded in seizing other miscellaneous contraband items having collective market value of Rs. 1,19,441/-. It is also worth mentioning here that in addition to regular seizure of such huge quantity of Narcotics drugs particularly Yaba Tablets and Ganja; vigilant BSF troops deployed on the extreme frontiers of the country are effectively dominating the International Border and considerably seizing other contraband items like Phensedyl, Liquor, Cattle, Garments also on daily basis from bordering areas.
