A bike rally was organised at Tripura on Saturday against Citizenship Amendment Act.
Protests have been going on in various parts of the country against the newly amended citizenship law since December 2019.
The CAA grants citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, Buddhists and Christians fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh and if they entered India on or before December 31, 2014.
Maharaja Pradyot Deb Barman said “I have flagged off the Tipra youth in bikes to visit every village and towns and spread the message how CAA affects us . We are not asking for votes but asking for unity amongst our people even if politicians dont unite. Please also go through my entire speech and if you agree with what i have said then do share .I cant imagine why people call me communal when i have never spoken against anyone.Time to clean up the system and only the youth of Tripura and Northeast can do it”.
