The state government would develop Adarsh Gram in every block under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana declared Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday after inaugurating the five-day Milan Mela at Fatikroy Higher Secondary School ground in Kumarghat.
“We have identified two/three villages in every block to develop them as Model Village under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana. We have also set target so that all development schemes of the central and state governments are implemented in those villages within the stipulated time and simultaneously other villages also developed,” the Chief Minister said.
Addressing during the programme, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of organizing such Milan Mela.
He added that Tripura is the home of rich culture of both the indigenous and the Bengali section of people and the state government took several steps to strengthen the field of culture.
The Chief Minister also announced that a ‘Cultural Hub’ would be set up in Tripura at total cost of Rs. 200 crore under the Fifteenth Finance Commission.
Deb pointed that there was an attempt to destroy the cultural field after formation of Congress-TUJS coalition government and said the new government had sanctioned Rs. 3.5 crore for various cultural activities and initiated a cultural calendar for reviving various traditional rural cultures including drama.
Addressing the people of Fatikroy, the Chief Minister said construction of a road connecting Kumarghat, 82 Miles and Kanchanbari would commence soon and the work order of Rs. 8.5 crore for this purpose has already been issued.
Besides, three English Medium Schools have been set up in this region in just two years, said Deb adding that an initiative had already been taken to set up one Police Outpost in Kanchanbari. Moreover, a Fire fighter station would soon be set up at Fatikroy.
“There is a Tirupati temple alongside the river which is facing damage following erosion of river bank– funds have already been sanctioned for embankment so that the temple doesn’t face any damage,” the Chief Minister said.
“Under MGNREGA, a total of 9,38,798 mandays have been generated in this block and under PMAY, 461 houses have been sanctioned out of which constriction of 144 houses has already been completed. Besides, 4074 toilets have been sanctioned under Swachcha Bharat Mission of which 1575 toilets have already been constructed in this region,” he said, adding that as many as 27,974 Ayushman Bharat cards were already distributed among the beneficiaries.
“The previous government used to play partisan politics but the present government works for all with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Viswas’ mantra,” he said.
“In Fatikroy, 17,782 free LPG connections have been provided, 4667 farmers’ families have been brought under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Nidhi Yojana and free electricity connections have been provided in 3963 houses under Saubhagya Yojana. Under Atal Jaldhara Mission, 22 water connections have been provided so far against the target of 4000 connections,” the Chief Minister said adding that two villages- Gokulnagar and Jagannathpur would be developed as Model Village.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also spoke about various welfare schemes introduced by the central and state governments. He also stated that the state government has been giving priority on developing human resource.
In today’s programme, two MLAs- Sudhangshu Das and Bhagaban Das among others were also present.
