Border Security Force is fully committed to eradicate the menace of drugs from the State of Tripura.
During ‘Anti-Narcotics Drives’, BSF is regularly conducting ‘Special Operations’ and succeeded in neutralizing nefarious designs of Trans-border Smugglers on the International Border. In series of such operations last night, BSF troops succeeded in giving a massive jolt to the Drug peddlers by seizing 22,600 Nos Yaba Tablets, 13 Kgs Ganja and 498 Bottles of Phensedyl having combined value of Rs 1,14,38,957/-.
During wee hours of 27 Feb’ 2020, based on a specific intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Out Post Salpokar, under PS Jatrapur, District Sepahijala laid a Special Ambush in target area.
During ambush, vigilant BSF troops observed some miscreants trying to throw packets over the IBB Fence. In order to foil the smuggling attempt, BSF troops resorted to firing from Non-lethal weapon. Resultantly, miscreants fled away from the spot, taking the advantage of darkness and undulating ground. During search of the area, BSF party recovered Yaba Tablets- 22,600 Nos worth Rs 1,13,00,000/- and 225 bottles of Phensedyl worth Rs 34,710/-. Seized drugs handed over to PS Jatrapur for further legal action.
Besides above, on intervening night of 26/27 Feb 2020, BSF troops also succeeded in seizing 13 Kgs Ganja and other contraband items having collective value 7,12,150/-, which also includes seizure of various types of injections having market value of Rs. 4,67,433/-, which were seized by the BSF party of Border Out Post Salpokar, under PS Jatrapur, District Sepahijala.
It is also worth mentioning here that in addition to regular seizure of such huge quantity of Narcotics drugs particularly Yaba Tablets, Ganja and Phensedyl; Vigilant BSF troops deployed on the extreme frontiers are also effectively maintaining peace and tranquility along the International Boundary.
