Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today visited the house of Bhaskar Deb Roy who died after getting injured in a road mishap.
The Chief Minister assured the bereaved family that a probe would be conducted to find out if any negligence was there on the part of doctors while the young lawyer was under treatment at GBP hospital prior to his death.
Later, speaking to media, the Chief Minister said that a magisterial probe was already ordered yesterday into the death of Bhaskar Deb Roy.
Deb also directed to submit the report within three days.
While visiting the deceased’s house at College Tilla this morning, the Chief Minister was also accompanied by Khadi Board Chairman Rajib Bhattacharjee.
During the Chief Minister’s interaction, the deceased’s family member alleged that there was negligence on the part of the doctor on-duty and health staff. Taking note on their statements, the Chief Minister assured of taking all necessary steps.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister expressed that he was not satisfied with the preliminary report. He assured that the Government would take stern action if any negligence is proved in the magisterial probe.
He also said the matter of providing any financial or other assistance to the bereaved family is under consideration.
