Lock-down in Tripura, 15 days free ration for economically backward, mid-day meal to be home delivered, Rs 4 lack ex-gratia for health staff on Covid-19 duty: Tripura CM
Tripura government declared lock-down in the entire state from 24 March (Tuesday) 2 PM until March 31.
The lockdown was declared to the media during a press conference in the secretariat by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in presence of Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Forest Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar and Additional DGP Rajiv Singh.
Earlier the CM had a meeting with his cabinet colleagues and high officials.
The CM appealed to the citizens of the state to avoid coming out of their houses especially those above 50 years and children.
He said that all public transport shall be suspended and 144 Cr Pc has already been imposed throughout the state and strict action against those found violating the law.
However, essential services would remain operational and vehicles associated with the health and emergency service besides security forces would be allowed to operate.
During the lock-down period banking services, food market, grocery shops, medicine, milk, cooking gas and fuelling stations would remain open.
The Chief Minister who also is the state Health Minister announced that the state government has decided in case of any casualty of those engaged with work related to Corona Virus an amount of Rs 4 lack shall be provided as ex-gratia.
Deb assured that the state government along with the public there is food stock for at least three months and so people should not panic.
He also warned again any type of stocking or black marketing as said that strict action will be taken against those found guilty under Epidemic Disease Act 1897.
The government has decided to provide advance social pensions for two months (April and May) to 3.95 lakh card holders of the state beside 15 days free ration (instead of Rs 2 per kg) to the economically backward section of people consisting of 5.86 card holders under the Antoday, Annapurna and Priority Group category.
Moreover, 4,32,279 school students covered under mid-day meal of SSA scheme shall get 15 day’s ration while 3,25,753 kids and 6,31,555 pregnant and lactating women shall get their ration from the Anganwari Kendra or ICDS centre. Government is also working out so that the ration home delivered to avoid gatherings.
Deb announced that special initiative has been taken for providing ten days work maintain social distancing and hygiene and also assured cleaning of all dues of MGNREGA and TUEP card holders and for which we have requested the centre to make the payments at the earliest.
On the issue of government employees he said that the state government is planning to make roster duty.
The CM assured additional vigil would be maintained in the villages along the international borders with Bangladesh and strict action will be taken against Panchayat Pradhans, secretaries and if any Bangladeshi citizen found in their village.
