Amidst global fight against outbreak of COVID-19, Border Security Force is simultaneously fighting against the menace of narcotics smuggling in the State of Tripura by regularly conducting ‘Special Operations’ to neutralizing nefarious designs of Trans-border Smugglers on the International Border.
In series of such Operations, on 22 April 2020, BSF troops along with police officials of PS Dharmanagar succeeded in seizing 1,539 Nos Yaba Tablets and Eskuf Syrup 62 bottles having total market value of Rs. 7,74,925/-.
Acting on a specific intelligence input about concealment of narcotics in a house of one suspect namely Irpan Ali (35 Yrs) S/o Late Noor Miah R/o Village Bhagyapur, PS Dharmanagar, a joint Ops was conducted by BSF troops of Border Out Post Rangna along with police party of PS Dharmanagar in the wee hours of 22 Apr’ 2020.
During the said operation, search of the target house was carried out and joint Ops party recovered Yaba Tablets – 1,539 Nos worth Rs. 7,69.500/- and Eskuf Syrup – 62 bottles worth Rs. 5,425/-, which were clandestinely hidden in premises of the target house. Seized Contrabands handed over to PS Dharmanagar for further investigation and legal action against the accused.
BSF, in addition to effectively dominating the International Border, has also been launching multi-pronged campaign to reach out to the people living in remote bordering areas of Tripura State by creating awareness for preventions against the Corona Virus as well as providing logistic support to them and extending all-out support to the Civil Administration in the fight against this global pandemic.
