Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has filed a complaint against senior journalist Arnab Goswami with the West Agartala police station for allegedly creating hatred among the religious groups in India.
Tripura Congress President Pijush Kanti Biswas in his statement said “Today on behalf of Tripura Pradesh Congress Sr. Vice President Shri TapasDey has filed an FIR against Arnab Goswami owner of republic Bharath for his derogatory remarks against Congress President Sonia Gandhi”.
The Congress reacted sharply to Republic Editor Arnab Goswami’s “condemnable comments” against party president Sonia Gandhi in the context of the Palghar lynching incident and has demanded legal action against him.
Mr. Goswami reportedly questioned Ms. Gandhi’s silence on the incident and made some provocative allegations.
After agitated Congress workers filed multiple complaints against Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami, Delhi Congress Chief Anil Chaudhary on Thursday lodged a complaint with the police for registration of an FIR against the journalist.
Goswami is facing the ire of Congress after his verbal attack on Sonia Gandhi, questioning her “silence” over the Palghar mob lynching incident, in his programme on Republic Bharat news channel.
The complaint (in Bikaner) alleged that the journalist used derogatory remarks against Sonia Gandhi on a TV show. The case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, police said.
