External Affairs Ministry taken initiatives to bring back 87 stranded Tripura people from Russia, Ukraine and Bangladesh.

Speaking to media persons in secretariat this evening education minister Ratan lal Nath said direct flight will operate from Moscow to Guwahati where 9 Tripura people will be on board along with 177 N.E people and 198 N.E people will reach from Ukraine capital Kiev to Guwahati where 25 Tripura people will be on board. Some of them are tourists, Service man, Students, said Mr. Ratan lal Nath. He said 53 number of Tripura people will bring back to Tripura from Dacca Bangladesh. Indian high Commission to Dacca will arrange buses or vehicles for bringing back them.

MEA requested to MHA for arranging necessary steps to bring back them through Akhaura-Agartala check post.

He said, 38,753 Tripura people still stranded at different parts of India. Two special trains one from Bengaluru and one from Chennai are on the way to Agartala. Chennai train is carrying 1200 passengers and Bengaluru train carrying 1440 Tripura passengers for Agartala. Another train is preparing for Bengaluru to Agartala very soon.

He said new 11 persons found COVID-19 positive and taken in to covid health care centre at Agartala today. Covid positive persons now reached at 167 in Tripura. Out of 11 persons 7 of them are from 86 Battalion of BSF of Dhalai district rest four of them two are from Guwahati and two are truck drivers from West bengal. To day 22 BSF personals discharged from hospital. All togather 62 BSF persons discharged so far. Another 101 patient’s are now under medical treatment.

A Shramik special train comprising 1584 labourers will start for Khagaria-Bihar from Jirania railway station tomorrow noon. He emphasis repeatedly for the in-coming all Tripura passengers must to stay at home quarantine and maintain all the procedures of home quarantine for 14 days. Other wise govt will apply punishment against them strictly, he said.
The central medical team visited the Hot spot Dhalai district today.
