Coronavirus cases in India hit the grim milestone of 1-lakh mark today as new infections continued to show a daily rise of about 5,000 cases for second day in a row.
India reported 4,970 new cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total Covid-19 cases in the country to 101,139. Deaths rose by 134 to 3,163.

This comes as India added 4,970 new cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s 8 a.m. update on May 19. A total of 39,173 people have recovered and 3,163 people have succumbed to the virus.
Two persons found Covid-19 positive in Tripura today.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his tweet said “467 samples have been tested for COVID19 and among them 2 persons found POSITIVE from 86th-Bn BSF, Ambassa. All the POSITIVE patients are under proper medical care. I pray for their speedy recovery. We are committed to ensure your safety”.
