As per India Meteorological Department, Agartala latest observation, the super cyclone AMPHAN is at 125 km south-southeast of Digha (West Bengal), 125 km nearly south of Sagar Islands and 125 km southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh).

Amphan Super Cyclone to move north-northeastwards and cross West Bengal-Bangladesh coast between Digha and Hatiya close to Sunderbans during late afternoon to evening hours of today (1600 hours IST onwards) with a wind speed of 155-165 kmph gusting to 185 kmph
It is Likely to cross between Digha and Hatiya islands (Bangladesh) near Sundarbans today (20 May) late afternoon to evening hours with maximum wind of 155-165 kmph gusting upto 185 kmph in that area.
Landfall process to commence from today about 4 pm onwards.
After landfall, the system is likely to move North-Northeast wards close to Kolkata.
Expecting cloudy weather and light to moderate rainfall in most places in Tripura for next two days in association to the system.
- There is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Tripura.
- Wind from today evening till tomorrow in Tripura (40-50 kmph).
- But it is not expected to be very severe in Tripura.
