Primary Sectors key to boost economy, says CM

Chief Minister has attended a one-day workshop on ‘Expanding Business in Primary Sector, at Prajna Bhawan on Thursday.

In his prolonged speech yesterday, the Chief Minister has emphasized on increasing activities in the Primary Sectors to strengthen the economy.

He said the financial package announced by central government under leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would benefit the primary sectors to a large extent.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that the participation of women in business activities of various sectors was increasing gradually.

Elaborating the importance of organizing such workshop, the Chief Minister said, “Primary Sectors will have major contributions in boosting the economy and with this view, the people involved in such sectors have to increase their activities.”

He also encouraged all the participants towards bee-keeping while assuring all possible assistance from government’s side.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said Tripura is one of the states having highest sample testing rates while the recovery rate is highest. He appreciated the efforts of entire healthcare system for this achievement.

He said the way the Prime Minister is tackling the COVID19 crisis is showing path to the entire globe.

In his address, the Chief Minister also spoke on new scheme Chief Minister Fasal Bima Yojana introduced to support local farmers.

He also conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina for fast approval of 93-km stretch of the Gomti river as India-Bangladesh Protocol Route.

Agriculture minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Fisheries minister Narendra Chandra Debbarma and other dignitaries were present in the inaugural session of the workshop.
