The Congress party on Thursday launched ‘Speak Up India’ campaign to raise public support for the people suffering from the coronavirus induced lockdown and asked the central government to unlock its coffers.
In a video message shared on party’s social media, Congress president Sonia Gandhi said that due to the lockdown, many jobs were lost, work places were shut down, farmers had to struggle to sell their crops but the government did not take cognisance of this.
To overcome this crisis, Gandhi suggested direct cash transfer to migrants and poor families and financial relief to MSMEs.
Tripura State NSUI also launches ‘Speak Up India’ campaign.
NSUI Vice President Samrat Roy in a video message demands Nyay for poor, all the poor families in India must be given financial support by the Govt by transferring Rs 10,000 into their account immediately and thereafter Rs 7500/ month. Financial support for small and medium businesses, to help the struggling middle class. Sending all migrants home without charge. Rs 10000 cash transfer and 200 days of NREGA.
He also demands “Government should waive off the semester/year fee because due to lockdown there are already financial crisis and maximum people suffering from this”.
