India became the world’s seventh worst-hit country by the deadly coronavirus as it recorded its highest-ever jump in infections. Currently, India has 190,535 cases of coronavirus infections, out of which 5,394 people lost their lives, as per the health ministry data published on its site at 08:00 am.
8,000 new Covid-19 cases, India’s case tally surges past the 1.9-lakh mark.
With 230 deaths in 24 hours, ending Monday morning, the death toll due to Covid-19 in India climbed to 5,394.
According to latest figures by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has so far recorded a total number of 1,90,535 coronavirus cases. These include 93,322 active cases, while 91,819 have recovered/discharged/migrated.
On Sunday, Tripura has registered 45 new positive cases, the highest number of cases registered in Tripura in a single day.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his tweet said “633 samples have been tested for COVID19 in Tripura today, out of which 34 people found POSITIVE. All of them have returned from Chennai”.
In the morning on Sunday, chief minister Deb informed about the detection of 11 new COVID19 positive cases in Tripura.
