BSF SEIZED CONTRABANDS WORTH 12.32 LAKHS
Amid the challenges posed by COVID-19, Border Security Force is safeguarding the extreme territorial limits of the country along the State of Tripura and simultaneously fighting with the menace of trans-border crimes.
BSF troops of Tripura Frontier are regularly conducting ‘Special Operations’ and succeeded in nullifying the nefarious designs of Trans-border criminals.
In the series of such Operations, during night hours of 13th June 2020, based on a specific intelligence input, troops of Border Out Post Dipak, under Sub-Division Sonamura, District- Sepahijala laid an ambush in target area. During ambush, Ops party observed suspicious activities of some miscreants near Border Fencing.
On being challenged, the miscreants paid no heed and continued with their activities. Sensing the graveness of the situation, BSF troops resorted to fire of Non-Lethal weapon, resulting in fleeing of miscreants from the spot leaving behind their consignment.
During thorough search of the area, party recovered a carton containing 70 Nos Mobile phones (Redmi Note 8 pro) having market value of Rs. 11,58,930/-. Seized mobile phones were handed over to PS Sonamura for further legal action.
In addition to above during same night, vigilant BSF troops also seized 100 Phensedyl bottles along with other contrabands worth Rs. 73,827/- on Indo-Bangladesh International border, making the total value of seizure to Rs. 12,32,757/.
