Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday left for a three-day visit to Russia during which he will hold talks with top Russian military brass and attend a grand military parade in Moscow to mark the 75th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Germany in the Second World War.
This comes ahead of India’s meeting with Russia and China scheduled for Tuesday. Amid stand off with China, the Ministry External Affairs will hold a video conference with the foreign ministries of the two countries.
External Affairs Minister S Jainshakar will attend the meeting with Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov along with China’s Wang Yi at 1:30 pm on Tuesday.
The meeting is considered to hold high importance amid escalating border tensions between India and China. However, Russia has refused to indulge in bilateral talks.
