India records highest single-day spike of 20,903 cases, total COVID-19 tally crosses 6.25 lakh

Fresh cases breached the 19,000-mark once again with 19,148 patients testing positive for the virus, taking India’s caseload to 6,04,641.

India’s cumulative death toll has risen to 17,834. On the positive side, 3,59,860 people have recovered from the virus

India’s COVID-19 tally touched 6,25,544 with the biggest single-day increase of 20,903 cases, while the death count rose to 18,213, the latest data from the Union Health Ministry shows.

The number of recoveries stands at 3,79,892. The recovery rate has improved to 60.72 per cent.

There are 2,27,439 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country at present.

Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases, followed by Tamil, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Rajasthan.
