Troops deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in the State of Tripura, besides maintaining the sanctity of International border are also curbing the menace of trans-border smuggling of narcotics and contraband items by conducting various operations in the bordering areas. On intervening night of 16/17 July 2020, BSF again succeeded in seizing narcotics and other contrabands having combined value of Rs. 22,62,546/-.
During one such operation at midnight hours of 16/17 July 2020, conducted on a specific BSF intelligence input, troops of BSF Border Out Post UNC Nagar in general area of PS- Sonamura, District-Sepahijala seized 06 bundles containing 127 Nos assorted smartphones having market value worth Rs 21,52,373/-. Seized contrabands were handed over to Customs Sonamura for further legal action.
Beside above, BSF troops also succeeded in seizing 12 Kgs Ganja, 25 Bottles of Phensedyl and miscellaneous contrabands having combined value of Rs. 1,10,173/- on same night.
