The Tripura government has decided to impose a three-day statewide total lockdown from today, in view of the spurt in coronavirus cases, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said on July 25.
The complete shutdown has started from today morning 5 am and last till 5 am on July 30.
The Health department will conduct a house to house-to-house survey and antigen test of suspected patients during the lockdown.
The Chief Minister announced an incentive of ₹1,000 for all category health staff who will be taking part in the survey work. He also said sufficient number of beds, ventilators, PPEs and emergency equipment to cope with the situation were available.
The chief minister made announced the decision a televised programme.
The lockdown would have 21 exemptions, including that to emergency and essential services as well as to print and electronic media.
