Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma took part in the 112th birth anniversary celebration programme of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman today morning organised at Benuban Vihar.
Several programmes were organized across the State to celebrate this day at the initiative of the government as well as private organizers.

In front of Ujjayanta Palace, which is the royal residence of Tripura and founded by Bir Bikram in 1901, people paid floral tribute to Bir Bikram.
BJP workers and supporters also celebrated this day. BJP Tripura President Dr Manik Saha and other leaders were present.

It is notable that, after coming to power in the state, the BJP has celebrated Bir Bikram’s birth anniversary at government initiative.
After BJP came to power, they renamed the Agartala Airport as Maharaja Bir Bikram Memorial Airport.

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maharaja BirBikram Manikya Bahadur, a tribute was paid to him on the initiative of Tripura Congress. Tripura Pradesh Congress President Pijush Kanti Biswas and other leaders were present.
