Border Security Force, the first line of defense owns responsibility to safeguards the Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Pakistan borders with valor and professionalism. BSF troops are giving service to their motherland with utmost sincerity and dedication.
On 08th November 2020 at about 0100 hrs, an Ambush-cum-Patrol party of 169 Bn BSF observed movement of a terrorist group infiltrating through the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil Sector, Kupwara (J&K). On being challenged, the intruders opened fire, which was fittingly retaliated by BSF party.
At the same time, Pakistan Post opened fire for providing cover to the infiltrating terrorists. In the fierce exchange of fire, one terrorist was shot dead and arms & ammunition were recovered. During the major gunfire fight, No. 001301748 CT Sudip Kumar sustained bullets injuries but with utter disregard to his personal safety, he kept on fighting till his last breath with exemplary courage and ultimately made supreme sacrifice and attained the martyrdom.
The mortal remains of Late Constable Sudip Sarkar reached Agartala on 10th Nov 2020 and were received by Shri Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, Inspector General Tripura Frontier along with other senior BSF Officers and State Administration Officials, who paid the tributes and homage to the Martyred, during Wreath laying ceremony at Agartala Airport. Late Constable Sudip Sarkar hails from VPO- Dhuleshwar, PS- Motor Stand East Thana, Tehsil & District- West Tripura (Tripura) – 799007, where Shri Biplab Kumar Deb, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura along with other dignitaries paid their homage to the brave beloved hero and offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. Last rituals of the BSF Constable Sudip Sarkar were conducted with full Force honors at Battala Cremation Ground, Agartala.
