Indefinite strike continues against Bru settlement plan in Kanchanpur

In protest against the decision of State Govt to give permanent settlement to the Bru refugees in Tripura, the Kanchanpur subdivision strike called by the joint movement committee is on its 4th day.

The daily life has halted as of now till the 4th day of strike.

Shops businesses vehicle movement has completely stopped.

The administration has issued section 144 in the area from Thursday morning 6am.

However the protesters have surrounded the SDM office neglecting the order.

In fear of the Bru refugees 25 Bengali families have left home and taken refuge at Dasda durgaram para school.

The situation at Kanchanpur is becoming complicated with each passing day which the Administration has failed to control.
