Manik Sarkar demanded the State Government for immediate re-appointment of the terminated teachers
Former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has demanded the State Government for immediate re-appointment of the terminated teachers.
The sacked teachers stage an indefinite sit-in demonstration from Monday under the banner of Joint Movement Committee.
The teachers formed a joint forum comprising three separate organizations Justice for 10323, Amra 10323 and All Tripura Ad Hoc Teachers’ Association – to protest in Agartala since morning.
The teachers staged their indefinite sit-in demonstration in front of City Centre, Agartala.
Notably, a total of 10,323 teachers were recruited by the then Left Front Government in Tripura in 2010.
Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that the then Left Front Government in Tripura had created 13,000 posts to accommodate these 10,323 teachers after the Supreme Court had terminated their jobs in 2011, 2014 and 2017.
“13,000 non-teaching posts were created by the then Left Front Government, which have been cleared by the Supreme Court. These posts can be easily revived by a simple cabinet decision and the retrenched teachers can be accommodated in these posts,” said Manik Sarkar.
