Health Insurance facility demand by FDPMC for Media persons gets green signal from CM
Forum for Development and Protection of Media Community holds its first state conference on Sunday.
First State Conference of Forum for Development & Protection of Media Community (FDPMC) held at Rabindra Bhawan, Agartala on Sunday.
Around 600 media people join the conference from all over the state.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Senior editors Pijush Biswas of Jagaran Patrika and Sanjib Deb of North East Colours, Senior journalist Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Press Club Secretary Pranab Sarkar as well as other eminent journalists, representative of Hawker’s Union and FDPMC leaders were present.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb announced health insurance scheme for media people along with several other facilities on Sunday while addressing first State level conference of Forum for Development and Protection of Media Community (FDPMC) in Agartala.
Biplab Kumar Deb said, “The state government will extend an insurance cover under Ayushman Tripura Scheme for media personnel of the state. The state government will bear the medical expenditure upto Rs 5 lakh. The insurance cover will be extended under the Ayushman Tripura Scheme”.
The announcement came as a fulfilment of the promise made FDPMC during Agartala Press Club elections.
The Chief Minister also announced the government would deliver 300 more press jackets, as demanded by FDPMC for the working journalists who did not receive the jacket at the first place.
