Tripura journalist Union seeks attention of Chief Justice in two murder cases
Tripura journalist Union has demanded the involvement of Chief Justice of Tripura Hight Court for quicker resolution of the murder cases of Santanu Bhowmik and Sudip Datta Bhowmik.
In the demand, the Union informed that the murder cases occured in 2017 yet investigation and judgement has not been completed. Consequently the criminals invloved in these heinous crimes has not been punished even after three years.
Young journalist Santanu Bhowmik was brutally killed in broad day light on 20th Sept 2017. Sudip Datta Bhowmik was shot dead on 21 st nov 2017 at the TSR 2nd battalion main office.
The journalists of the state have been demanding CBI enquiry into the murders and even submitted memorandum to the President of India and Home Minister.
Later a CBI Enquiry was started but it is quite unfortunate that the enquiry has not yet produced any result.
Under such circumstances the Union has requested the chief justice to take a look into the matter.
