Congress calls 12-hour Tripura bandh to protest attack on PCC chief
Tripura’s opposition Congress has called a 12 hour shutdown on Monday to protest against the alleged attack on state party President Pijush Biswas.
Congress president Pijush Kanti Biswas suffered minor injuries after his vehicle was attacked allegedly by BJP workers in Bisalghar area of Sipahijala district on Sunday morning.
In protest of the attack on Tripura Congress President, the party has called for a 12-hour state-wide bandh on Monday.
The Congress party has alleged that the attack was carried out by supporters of the ruling BJP and took place despite police personnel stationed nearby.
Biswas alleged that the miscreants damaged his vehicle with sticks and an iron rod.
The goons also thrashed seven or eight Congress supporters who were present on the spot.
The Congress leader filed a complaint against the assailants at the Bishalgarh Police Station.
