Government has decided to celebrate the birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as ‘Parakram Diwas’ on 23rd of January every year.
Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Culture Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Parakram Diwas event in Kolkata and will inaugurate an exhibition there. He said, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will attend the event at Netaji’s birthplace at Cuttack in Odisha. The Minister said, another event is planned in Haripura, Gujarat where Netaji was elected president of Congress in 1938.
Mr Patel said, Government will celebrate the 125th Birth Anniversary Year of Netaji in a befitting manner at national and international level. He said, a High Level Committee, headed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been constituted to commemorate the birth anniversary of Netaji.
The Committee will decide on the activities for a one year long commemoration starting from 23rd January. He said, several Ministries and Departments have planned different activities to commemorate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
