FENCE BREACH INCIDENT IN DEBIPUR (MUSLIMPARA), BELONIA
Border Security Force in its unremitting effort towards maintaining peace and tranquillity along the International Boundary is also curbing the menace of Trans-border smuggling on Indo-Bangladesh border, besides ensuring safety & security of Govt property.
During execution of operational duties, trans-border criminals continue to pose challenges for BSF.
On 13th Feb 2021 at about 0350 hrs, BSF party noticed suspicious movement of some miscreants with cattle heads near Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence (IBBF). On being challenged, the miscreants did not pay any heed and adopted aggressive posture by showing Dah / Machete with an intention to encircle and attack the BSF party.
Sensing imminent danger to life and Govt property, party lobbed 01 Stun Grenade in self defence, resulting in fleeing of the miscreants taking advantage of darkness and thick vegetation.
During thorough search of the area, party detected IBB Fence breach in alignment of Border Pillar No. 2178/5-S. Subsequently, spot inspection was carried out in presence of local police. It is pertinent to mention here that area of Village- Debipur (Muslimpara) under Sub Division – Belonia is highly prone to trans-border crimes and repeatedly being exploited by miscreants / trans-border criminals for illegal activities.
A complaint against the suspected trans-border criminals involved in above incident is being lodged in Police Station- Belonia, District- South Tripura for taking necessary legal action against the delinquents.
