BSF’s ‘Maitri cycle rally’ reaches Belonia
After hectic schedule, BSF Cyclists were embraced by all at new destinations.
Cyclists also paid homage to Bangladesh Liberation War Veterans at Bharat-Bangladesh Maitri Uddyan Park, Belonia.
Border Security Force, besides performing primary task of safeguarding & defending the Frontiers of the Country round the clock, is also profoundly involved in conducting activities which encourages comradeship & sportsmanship.
BSF 130 Battalion organized various programs at Belonia Bharat-Bangladesh Maitri Udyan to felicitate the Cyclists.
Commandant of 130 no. Battalion Dr Ram Kumar was also present at the progamme.
On 10th January 2021, a ‘Maitree Cycle Rally’ comprising of 13 BSF Cyclists was flagged-off from Zero Point Panitar, 24 North Parganas District of West Bengal, which has been going all along the Indo-Bangladesh border passing through BSF Frontier South Bengal, Frontier North Bengal, Frontier Guwahati, Frontier Meghalaya, Frontier Mizoram & Cachar, Frontier Tripura and will be terminating at BSF Border Out Post Silkore, (Mizoram) after 66 days i.e. on 17th March 2021 (Birth date of Banga Bandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rehman).
The “Maitree Cycle Rally” entered in Tripura Frontier area on 16th Feb 2021 and will continue in the State till it crosses to Mizoram area on 27th Feb 2021, covering a distance of 817 Kms in the State.
BSF Tripura is also organizing various programs in bordering areas enroute to felicitate the Maitree Rally Cyclists.
The Maitree Cycle Rally will be proceeding further to different locations of Tripura.
This special initiative will result in further strengthening the mutual trust and co-ordination between the two border guarding forces. In turn, this will further strength the ties between the two friendly countries India and Bangladesh.
Commandant of 200 no. Battalion Mr. Rajnarayan Mishra, T Vinay Kumar, Jagadip Singh along with Bangladesh BGB Director Mr SM Meheg D Hassan, Asst Director were present at the program.
A cultural progamme was organized by them in honour of the cyclists. Similarly, various programmes are being organized by the BSF at various en-route Border Posts.
