TMC releases list of 291 candidates; Mamata to contest from Nandigram

Trinamool Congress (TMC) today declared lists of the candidates for 291 assembly seats. The seats were were declared by TMC chairperson and West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at 2 pm during a press conference. The CM also anounced that shw will be contesting election from Nandigram, putting down all the speculations to rest.


In TMC Candidates List 2021, out of the 291 candidates who will be fielded in the West Bengal Elections 2021, 50 are women candidates, 79 belong to SC caste while 17 are from ST caste. The TMC Candidate list also has 42 Muslim candidates, this time.

While, Bidhannagar Mayor-in-Council Debasish Jana and three Trinamool Congress (TMC) councilors from Asansol joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. The four TMC leaders were inducted into BJP in presence of the party`s state president Dilip Ghosh.
