BSF SEIZED CATTLE & OTHER CONTRABANDS WORTH RS 14.38 LACS
Amid fight against COVID pandemic, best endeavors are being made by the troops of Tripura Frontier to curb the trans-border smuggling on the Indo-Bangladesh International Border in the State of Tripura.
In series of Operations, on intervening night of 08/09 May 2021, Bordermen foiled the smuggling bids and successfully seized 25 Cattle, 16 Kgs Ganja, 25 Btls Phensedyl, 38 Nos assorted Smart Mobile phones, 02 Motorcycles and various contraband items having combined value of Rs. 14,38,772/-, during different operations.
In one of the such Operation, acting on specific BSF intelligence input, BSF troops of BOP Kullubari, 133 Bn BSF, Police Station – Sonamura, Sub Division – Sonamura, District Sepahijala seized 38 Nos Smart Mobile phones (Poco X3 Pro, Redmi Note Pro Max, Redmi Note Pro, Poco M2 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 10 & Poco M2) worth Rs. 8,10,962/-.
The seized Mobile phones are being handed over to Customs Sonamura.
Besides above, based on specific BSF intelligence input, BSF troops of BOP Kamthana, 74 Bn BSF, Police Station – Madhupur, Sub Division – Bishalgarh, District Sepahijala seized 24 Nos Cattle worth Rs. 2,48,000/-. Similarly, in another operation, BSF troops of BOP Putia, 74 Bn BSF, Police Station – Kalamchera, Sub Division – Sonamura, District Sepahijala seized 02 Nos Motorcycles (Yamaha FZ-S V3 150 CC & Suzuki Gixxer – SF 155 CC) worth Rs. 2,49,864/-.
Likewise, BSF troops of other Border Out Posts also succeeded in seizing various contraband items having collective value of Rs. 1,29,956/- in different operations, during same night. The seized Cattle & contraband items were handed over to the concerned Police Station for further disposal.
It is pertinent to mention that BSF Tripura is committed to thwart the terminal impact of COVID-19 2nd Wave by taking all feasible pre-emptive measures, despite of various adversaries posed by this deadly pandemic.
