It is yet another moment of reckoning for Tripura Police.

Over the last few months, the State Police have been getting consistent success against remaining fraction of NLFT extremists.

Recent drives against extremist paid very effective results. This is virtually leading the State to an insurgency-free State.

Three listed NLFT(BM) extremists namely (1) Rupadhan Debbarma @Ruphai(30), S/O Late Uttam Debbarma of Tufaniamura, PS Takarjala, District Sepahijala, (2) Amush Tripura @Sengkhari (32), S/O Shri Ram Kumar Tripura of Sindhukpathar, PS Manu Bazar District South Tripura, (3) Dilip Debbarma @Momphal (43), S/O Shri Subal Debbarma of Bangshi Para, PS Mungiakami, District Khowai, fled away from Bangladesh hideout and surrendered to Tripura Police at Special Branch Head Quarters on 13th May, 2021.

They have deposited one Pistol with 5 live rounds and extortion notices of NLFT (BM) extremist group.

During preliminary interrogation, it has been revealed that these three listed extremists joined group in the early part of 2018 and underwent training in Myanmar and Bangladesh training camps of NLFT(BM).

They were assigned to collect extortion money from the interior bordering areas of the State. Seeing the hardship of jungle life and ill behaviour of their so-called leaders, who are enjoying luxurious life in Bangladesh and Myanmar, and also the all out drive of Tripura Police with TSR and other Central Forces against insurgency, they got frustrated and have chosen the path of joining mainstream of life.
