Dy CM Jishnu Dev Varma held a meeting with Bankers and MFIs; discussed about the relief measures taken by the Bankers & MFIs

Agartala, 2 June :A meeting held on today i.e on 2nd June 2021 with the Bankers and Micro Finance Institutions operating in the State to discuss the relief measures taken by the Bankers and MFIs to their borrowers due to prevailing situation of COVID-19 Pandemic in the State.

Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura has presided over the meeting. Secretary Finance, Director, Institutional Finance, DGM & Circle Head, PNB(SLBC Convener), AGM RBI Agartala, Regional Manager SBI (North & South), Zonal Manager UCO Bank, Chairman TGB, General Manager TSCB & Representatives of Small Finance Banks including Bandhan Bank, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank and MFIs participated in the meeting.

It has been discussed in the meeting that Nationalised Banks has already declared moratorium to their customers specially in MSME and other Priority Sector Loans up to September, 2021.

The Deputy CM asked the MFIs to declared similar moratorium to their customers as per schedule Bank till August, 2021.

The Small Finance Banks & Micro Finance Institutions committed that they will declare moratorium up to August, 2021 after getting confirmation from their Board of Directors/Authority.

Small Finance Banks and MFIs will inform to the Finance (Institutional Finance) Department their consent regarding moratorium within 5th June, 2021.

The Schedule Commercial Bank agreed to publish in news paper the detail of their loan restructuring modality for the benefit of common citizens.
