TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee to visit Tripura on Friday

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee will be visiting Agartala in Tripura tomorrow to protest against the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) team detained at a hotel.

The I-PAC team of 23 members is led by poll strategist Prashant Kishore.

A 23-member team of poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) has been let off its ‘house arrest’, hours after it was allegedly held inside a hotel by the Tripura police.

The team was in the state doing groundwork for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of the 2023 state Assembly elections.

The delegation, including West Bengal education minister Bratya Basu, Rajya Sabha MP Hritabrata Banerjee and law minister Moloy Ghatak arrived at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala on Wednesday.

On Thursday, TMC Rajya Sabha leader Derek O’Brien reached Tripura capital Agartala along with Lok Sabha MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar.

Party chief Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee, who is also the TMC’s all-India general secretary, is likely to join them on Friday.
