Tripura Pradesh Congress President Pijush Kanti Biswas withdraws resignation.
‘Pijush Biswas to continue as Tripura Congress President’, Tripura Congress Incharge Ajay Kumar told media at Delhi.
Tripura Congress Incharge Dr Ajoy Kumar said that Pijush Biswas has withdrawn his resignation letter and to continue to work as Tripura Congress State President until he (Dr Ajoy Kumar) arrives in Tripura.
On Saturday morning Tripura Congress President Pijush Kanti Biswas while addressing media in his statement said “With sincere gratitude I thank all Congress Leaders, supporters for your cooperation during my tenure as TPCC President (acting). Today I have resigned from the post of President and retired from politics as well. My sincere gratitude towards Hon’ble Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhiji for their support. I am returning to my profession. Jai Hind”
The appointment of Tripura Congress President Pijush Kanti Biswas comes after Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarman resigned as president of Tripura Congress some time ago over his plea for implementation of NRC in the state and refusing to “compromise” with other Congress leaders.
Biswas has been the president of the party state unit since December 2019.
