Tripura Trinamool leader Panna Dev sent to Police remand by Court till 20 Sept
The court on Sunday sent a senior leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to three-day police remand in connection with a case related to abetment to suicide.
Earlier in the day, Panna Deb was arrested from her residence in the Indranagar locality here by the Investigating Officer who has been probing the suicide.
Tripura Trinamool leader Panna Deb has been arrested in connection with the untimely death of her brother’s daughter Rajshree Deb.
On September 3, the hanging body of Rajshree Deb was recovered from a tree near the Indranagar cemetery.
Panna Deb claimed to the media that she has been falsely implicated in the case as she joined the Trinamool few days ago.
She further claimed that BJP’s Mandal level leaders went and attacked her house. Rajshree Deb’s mother claims that there is no charge against anyone for her daughter’s death.
Her mother, who is also protesting, said: “The police did not even talk to me once about the incident – but they arrested Panna.”
