490 crore to be invested for development of MBB Agartala Airport: Scindia

The central government has allocated 490 Crore INR for third airport at Agartala.

Currently, MBB Airport has a capacity of 500 passengers per hour this will be upgraded to 1200 passengers per hour after the implementation of the project proposed by the central government.

India will come up with at least four new airports, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced on Thursday. These will be constructed in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar and Jewar, Uttarakhand’s Dehradun, Tripura’s Agartala. 

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his tweet said ” Tripura is marching ahead on the path of development under the able leadership of hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji. On behalf of 37 lakh people of #Tripura extending warm gratitude to hon’ble PM Sh. Narendra Modi Ji and Minister of Civil Aviation Sh. Jyotiraditya M Scindia Ji for unveiling the upgradation plan for Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport at Agartala. The central government has allocated 490 Crore INR for third airport at Agartala. Currently, MBB Airport has a capacity of 500 passengers per hour this will be upgraded to 1200 passengers per hour after the implementation of the project proposed by the central government”.
