Three NLFT members surrender before Tripura Police
Pursuant to the committed effort put in by Tripura Police for making Tripura an insurgency free, another success has been added to its credit.
In its fight against extremism, Tripura is setting a new high as far as internal security is concerned. Continued success against extremists in the forms of arrests/surrenders in the recent time with the co-ordinated efforts by Tripura Police is worth mentioning.
In the background of the above insurgency scenario of the state, 03 NLFT (PD) extremists namely (1) Alindra Reang (25) @ Beching @ Sujitfa, S/O-Shri Padma Kumar Reang of Ujan Gachiram Para, PS- Anandabazar, Dist- North Tripura, (2) Anida Reang (35) @ Yaphung @ Mantajoi, S/O Shri Hari Mohan Reang of Joymani Para, PS- Anandabazar, Dist- North Tripura and (3) Draw Kumar Reang (30) @ Dunia @ Milika, S/O Shri Hemanta Reang of Khasithai Para, PS- Anandabazar, Dist-North surrendered to Special Branch Organization on 15-09-2021 after fleeing from their Jupui camp under Bagaichari PS, Dist- Rangamati, Bangladesh. During surrender, they deposited one .22 Pistol with four live ammunition.
During preliminary interrogation, it has been revealed that they joined NLFT (PD) Organization in the year 2019 in Bangladesh NLFT camp with other extremists.
During field experiences of these extremists, they realised that they had been cheated in the name of “Independence of Tripura”.
During their isolated life away from home, they suffered physical & emotional miseries. They have also realised the harsh realities of Jungle life without food & social life. Presently NLFT (PD) group is facing serious financial/ organizational crisis.
On the other hand, systematic & organized effort generated by Tripura Police motivated them to join the mainstream of society.
