BSF SEIZED NARCOTICS & OTHER CONTRABAND WORTH RS 19.96 LACS
The best endeavors are being made by the troops of Tripura Frontier to curb the trans-border smuggling on the Indo-Bangladesh International Border in the State of Tripura.
In series of Operations, on intervening night of 21/22 Sept 2021, vigilant Bordermen foiled the smuggling bids and successfully seized 250 Kgs Khas-Khas (Poppy Seeds), 15 Kgs Ganja, 318 Bottles Liquor, 234 Bottles Phensedyl Syrup, 04 Cattle & assorted contraband items having combined value of Rs. 19,96,162/- besides apprehended 01 suspected intruder, during different operations.
In one of the such Operation on 21st Sept 2021, acting on specific BSF intelligence input, alert BSF troops of BOP Rahimpur, 150 Bn BSF under SHQ BSF Gokulnagar seized 250 Kgs Khas-Khas (Poppy Seeds) worth Rs. 5,87,500/-.
The seized contraband is being handed over to Customs Sonamura, Sub Division- Sonamura, Distt: Sepahijala (Tripura).
Further, On 21st Sept 2021 during evening hours, vigilant BSF troops of BOP Rangauti, 20 Bn BSF under SHQ BSF Panisagar apprehended one suspected intruder along with Bangladesh Currency of 442/- Taka, while he was loitering at border road in suspicious conditions.
The above suspect is being handed over to the Police Station – Irani, Sub Division – Kailashahar, District Unakoti (Tripura), for further course of action.
