‘Bharat Bandh’, complete success: CPIM Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury
CPIM state secretary and former MP Jitendra Chaudhury claimed that the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha which was supported by five Leftist organizations in the state has been totally successful.
In a press conference in Agartala on Monday evening, Chaudhury said “There has been seen a massive response from the people by supporting the bandh across Tripura”.
The 10-hour-long Bharat Bandh, which was ended at 4pm, was successful, the protesting farmers said on Monday.
The pan-India shutdown was organised by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) against the three farm laws passed by Parliament in September last year.
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) called a 10-hour-long Bharat Bandh to mark the first anniversary of the Centre’s three controversial farm laws getting Presidential nod.
A partial impact on the Bharat bandh was felt across the state since Monday morning.
No major violence occurred during the strike in the state.
The Bharat Bandh garnered support from more than 500 farmer organizations, 15 trade unions, political parties, six state governments and varied sections of society.
