CM pays homage to shaheed jawans on Police Commemoration Day

Nation’s brave sons laid their lives for the nation’s integrity and prosperity. Our tribute will be truly paid to them when we take responsibility to strengthen nation’s integrity, stated Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after paying homage to shaheed jawans on Police Commemoration Day.

Police Commemoration Day was observed today nationwide in a befitting manner.

The programme in the state was organised at Manoranjan Debbarma stadium, Police Line, Arundhati Nagar. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at 8am in the morning paid floral tribute to all those martyr police personnel and jawans who sacrificed their lives last year. Chief Secretary Kumar Alok, Police DIG V.S Yadav and other high ranking police officials paid tribute.

Chief Minister while speaking to the journalists said, 10 Indian jawans lost their lives while by a sudden attack imposed by the Chinese army while patrolling at the border. Though since 1960, this day has been observed, but from last 2012 this day has been observed as Police Commemoration Day nationwide.

377 jawans have sacrificed their lives in 2020-21 for the nation. He hoped that their sacrifice will strengthen nation’s unity in coming days. The Chief Minister offered his condolences to all the needs and their families.

The Chief Minister hoped that the Indian military, para-military or police forces will serve the nation with even more foresightedness in coming days. The names of 377 shaheeds belonging from different troops, para military troops and police forces who lost their lives. from 1 September, 2020 to 31 August, 2021 were read out on this day.
