Tripura govt hikes assistance for marriage of daughter of construction workers to Rs 25,000
The state government has decided to increase the financial assistance for women construction workers’ marriage scheme from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000.
Labor Minister Bhagwan Chandra Das made the announcement at a press conference at the Secretariat’s press conference on Friday.
He said that since 2012, the construction workers ‘marriage scheme used to provide assistance of Rs 10,000 for the marriage of the daughters of construction workers’ families.
The present state government has increased the amount of this assistance from ten thousand rupees to twenty five thousand rupees.
This will benefit more construction workers in the state. He said that this financial assistance would be given as one-time assistance for the marriage expenses of the daughter of the construction worker’s family registered with the labor department.
A maximum of two daughters of a family can avail this facility.
Labour Minister also highlighted various projects taken up for construction workers. About 40,000 construction worker families in the state have been given one-time assistance in the Covid emergency situation.
