New Policy apporoved to attract IT companies : Sushanta

Tripura Data Center Policy-2021 has been approved in the state Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Also various decisions have been taken in the meeting. Information and Culture Minister Sushant Chowdhury explained the decisions taken in the cabinet at a press conference.

He said the state government has approved the policy with a view to providing employment to the unemployed in the state.

As a result, various established information and technology companies from abroad will be attracted to invest in the state. The minister said the state government would extend necessary assistance if the companies wanted to set up state data centers.

The state cabinet on Tuesday decided to hand over more government schools to the private sector due to low presence of students at those schools, said cabinet spokesperson and Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.

The organisations would be given the responsibility of maintaining the quality of education in which less students are present, he added.

Speaking to the reporters at the Secretariat, Chowdhury said that the state government shall review the status of all such schools twice every year and thereafter the private organisations would be called for taking over the schools.

“There shall be certain rules and regulations framed that have to be achieved by the private organisations, for example they shall take over at least two such schools in the state and all the maintenance and salary of staff would be paid by the organisation themselves,” Chowdhury added.
