Strongly condemn attack on Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur: CM Biplab

The Chief Minister, Biplab Kumar Deb has condemned the attack on the Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur. He paid homage to those soldiers and family members who have been martyred today.

In his tweet he wrote “I strongly condemn the cowardly attack on the convoy of Assam Rifles in Churachandpur, Manipur”.

He also added “My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The perpetrators will soon be brought to justice”.

Five Assam Rifles soldiers, including a commanding officer, and their two family members lost their lives in an ambush attack in Churachandpur district of Manipur on Saturday.

The convoy was attacked at Sehkan village in Churachandpur district by suspected militants of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), a militant group in Manipur demanding a separate homeland.
