Agartala,: With the upcoming ADC elections drawing closer, state politics has once again gained momentum. Amid rising political activity in tribal areas, a shift within the ranks of Tipra Motha has come to the forefront.
On Tuesday, around 215 voters from 57 families reportedly left Tipra Motha and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a public meeting held in the Demchhara and Kachchhara areas of Unakoti district.
Addressing the gathering, State BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state’s Chief Minister, Tripura continues to witness overall development. He claimed that infrastructure growth, implementation of social security schemes, and various tribal welfare initiatives have strengthened public confidence in the BJP.
The BJP leadership further asserted that the party’s organizational base in ADC areas has significantly strengthened and expressed confidence that the party will form the government in the upcoming ADC elections.
Meanwhile, no official reaction has yet been received from Tipra Motha regarding the reported defection.
Political observers believe that with the ADC polls approaching, political realignments and party-switching activities in tribal areas may intensify in the coming days.
