41st Agartala Book Fair will be inaugurated today

The 41st Agartala Book Fair, a celebration of contemplation, will begin today, March 24, 2023 at the Hapania International Fair Ground.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will inaugurate the 41st Agartala Book Fair at 5:30 PM.

Bangladesh MP Pran Gopal Dutta, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratanlal Nath, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, MLA Ramprasad Pal and MLA Meena Rani Sarkar will be present as honored guests at the inauguration ceremony.

Chief Secretary J K Sinha will be present as a special guest along with Dr. PK Chakraborty, Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Department and Arif Mohammad, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh’s Assistant High Commission Office in Agartala.

This time the main idea of the 41st book fair is “Vasudhaib Kutunbakam”. This year, there will be 176 stalls in the book fair, including 13 minority language stalls.

State publishing houses will have 82 stalls, while publishers and booksellers of outer states such as West Bengal (Kolkata), Assam (Silchar), Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana will have 79 stalls.

Besides, publishers and booksellers of Bangladesh will have 15 stalls. The 13-day book fair will be open daily from 2:30 PM to 9:00 PM, while the fair will be open at 2 PM on holidays. Book sellers will give 10% discount for the buyers at the book fair.
